The Gohona Bori residency
Two nights in village time: piping bori with local artisans, home-cooked meals, forest bathing and golden-hour walks.
Experience rural Bengal.
Turiyo is where the village work lives on: a residency that teaches Gohona Bori, an ancestral farmhouse for slow stays, and food shaped by hand, in Chauddhachuli, Purba Medinipur.
#BuildTogether

Turiyo Foods set out to revive Gohona Bori, Bengal’s jewellery made of sun-dried lentils, as a product. It taught us that scaling the product meant compromising the craft.
So we teach the craft instead. For two nights each winter, from December to February, guests learn to pipe Gohona Bori alongside the women of the village, and carry home a jar of their own.

Two nights in village time: piping bori with local artisans, home-cooked meals, forest bathing and golden-hour walks.

A rustic retreat with modern comforts, made for pensive reflection and slow, seasonal living.

Gohona Bori, pickles and preserves, made by hand and shared at communal tables.

Haats, ponds and paths: a village journal of the people and places around Chauddhachuli.
A two-acre ancestral property with a century-old pond, a kitchen garden and quiet corners, a sliver of quintessential rural Bengal. The six years of rural work that led here are told under Rural Development.
